Married for 67 years

Tonight at the dinner table with my Grandpa Goodman (he is a healthy & active 91) he told Rodney that he had been married to my Grandma for 67 years. Rodney then asked what was the secret to their success? He replied...it cost too much to get a divorce! Funny one Gpa!

I am consistently amazed at the beautiful heritage the my grandparents have created. They still live on their own, travel on their own (although a little slower, they just got a new Prius - going green in Eugene) and are both in great health! My Grandpa went up in a hot air balloon in August just for fun and my grandma bowls twice a week and is very good at it. The love the Lord and attend a great foursquare church in Eugene. I am so grateful so the legacy that they are leaving!

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood

We went out to visit Aunt Mandi and Baby Maezie today and it was a beautiful day! After a delightful lunch we went on a "hike" over the creek and through the woods to visit Uncle Josh and the 60+ horses that he takes care of at the ranch (http://www.cristacamps.com). Both Carter and Ellyson loved looking at the horses. It was fun to watch Carter talk to each one like they were old friends. Thank you so much Mandi for a fabulous afternoon - good company, fresh air, exercise and friendship was just what we needed today!

My Funny Valentines!

Today is special for 2 reasons in the Switzer house...Valentine's Day and Ellyson's 5 month birthday! Rodney surprised his girls with beautiful flowers and a pedicure for mom (praise the Lord!). Ellyson is sporting 2 darling Valentine dresses - 1 from Gma Barbara and 1 from Great Gma in California. THANK YOU! Carter was happy just to munch on his chocolates, he doesn't quite get it yet, but someday he will love on his mama and maybe even a special girl one day.

Dinosaurs

This was the cute conversation that Carter and I had on the way to preschool this morning.
"Mom, what is your favorite dinosaur? You know dinosaurs are 'stinked' - that means that they died. Now the are in the museums cause people like to look at their bones."

WE DID IT!!!!

Today Ellyson got to try Rice Cereal for the 1st time. She was definitely ready because she devoured it. It was a huge mess for both of us, but well worth it (notice the cereal on my chest, oops) . It is so exciting to see her grow. We are excited to introduce new things to her this next month.
